The DELE is an official diploma 
that proves the skills in Spanish 
language.It is issued by the 
Instituto Cervantes on behalf of
the Spanish Ministry of Education
Culture and Sports. The diploma is
internationally recognized and its 
validity is indefinite. 

The University of Salamanca 
collaborates with the
Instituto Cervantes in the 
preparation and correction of
the exams,which are held following
the guidelines of the Common
European Framework of Reference
(CEFR)that ensures international 
standards are applied.
 
The DELE certification system 
offers six diplomas: Level A1, 
level A2,level B1,level B2,level C1
and level C2. In addition, the 
Instituto Cervantes offers exams
A1 and A2/B1 for students of
Spanish from 11 to 17 years old.

The tests generally include reading
comprehension, writing expression
and interaction, listening 
comprehension,and oral expression
and interaction.

The exams can be taken at the 
Instituto Cervantes centres as well
as at any of the authorized 
examination centres including 
universities and schools of 
Spanish.The tests are held at 700 
centres in more than 100 countries. 

The DELE diplomas facilitate access
to university degrees,postgraduate
studies,scholarships and work life.
